Welcome!

Greetings to the gentlemen and ladies of the Known World! I am Antoine D’Aubernoun, a relative newcomer to the Barony of the Steppes in the Kingdom of Ansteorra. I first joined the SCA in the early 1990s in the Kingdom of Atlantia and I have returned after a long hiatus. This blog will be used, perhaps infrequently, to record details of my progress on several current and upcoming projects. Due to the infrequent posting, I recommend using an RSS feed to follow this blog, as checking back here may only be occasionally rewarded.

My current projects include:

• Building a linen arming cote from which to suspend my arm harness.
• Continuing to get my fighting kit in order, including strapping a bunch of armor and acquiring a helmet.
• Improving my heavy fighting skills and overall fitness.
• Continuing to improve my heraldic skills, as I am now deputy to the Barony of the Steppes Oakenwald Pursuivant, Konrad Nowak.
• Continuing to improve my skills with the free vector graphic program, Inkscape. I am using it to assemble a template and library of heraldic art that may be used to fairly easily emblazon many devices.
• Assembling a roll of arms for the Barony of the Steppes using the above techniques. I hope this will promote awareness of and excitement for heraldic display in the barony.
• Working on developing a period persona.
• Finally, learning other skills that may be used to barter with other folks and enrich the Dream for those around me.
